Ingrid completed her doctorate at the University of Iceland and her postdoctoral training at Carleton, where she developed methods for comparing the representational geometry of neural network models against human behavioural data. Her work asks which architectural choices in artificial networks — depth, recurrence, attention — produce internal representations that most closely mirror the structure of human cognition, and what those correspondences reveal about the computations underlying thought. She joined the Institute in 2024.
