Dr. Jonathan Müller

Jonathan Müller received his PhD from the University of Zurich in behavioral economics and decision neuroscience. He joined the Institute in its early years and became a cornerstone of the judgment and decision-making program, leading research on how the brain encodes economic value under uncertainty. Over eleven years, Müller supervised numerous graduate and postdoctoral researchers, published more than twenty peer-reviewed papers, and served as a mentor to the next generation of decision neuroscientists. His work on neural representations of risk helped establish the Institute's reputation in neuroeconomics. Müller departed in 2014 to become the director of the Decision Science Laboratory at ETH Zurich.
