Wei Chen obtained her doctorate from Tsinghua University and spent three formative years at the Institute from 2016 to 2018 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Her research on emotion regulation across cultural contexts provided valuable insights into how social norms shape affective processing. During her tenure, she mentored several junior researchers and co-authored papers examining the interplay between culture, emotion, and decision-making. She left the Institute in 2018 to return to China as an Assistant Professor at Beijing Normal University, where she now directs her own research program on social-emotional development.
