Wei completed her doctorate at Peking University, where she studied how growing up in different economic environments shapes risk tolerance — not just attitudes toward gambles, but the deeper intuitions about predictability and control that underlie them. She is now a postdoctoral fellow on the Risk Across Cultures project, coordinating data collection across the study's fourteen country sites and leading the analysis of environmental volatility as a predictor of risk preference variation. She joined the Institute in 2024.
